Here is a tell tale sign that you are getting a shitty tip.
Waiter: “Hi, how are you folks doing tonight?”
Table: “Do your drinks have free refills??”
Waiter: “Of course they do you cheap motherfuckers!”
It is always fun to serve a table knowing the whole time that you are getting a bad tip. Your best bet is to rush out their food and get them out! Some people should just stay home!

That is a sure sign of a bad tip on the way. Especially when they guzzle the pop down in less than a minute and ask for a refill.
I ask about this all the time. I usually tip 20% rounded up to the nearest whole dollar. Thanks for the tip that I should just stay home. If you hear me asking the dreaded question in your restaurant, let me know to pocket my cash and forget about dinner. I’ll just go somewhere else.

When I go out to eat, and am getting charged $3 for a pop, then I want to know if it’s free refills. I drink a lot when I eat, often 4 or 5 refills during supper, and I would like to know up front if I am going to pay 3 bucks or 12 to 15 just on beverages.
