Got The Digits

July 29, 2010

I am a waitress at a family style restaurant. I get my fair share of assholes but for the most part the customers are nice people. One night I was serving a table of 3 younger guys. One was pretty cute and he was being really flirty with me the whole time I was serving them. Naturally I was thinking, “Ok, hopefully I will get a good tip from this table.” Everything went fine during the rest of the meal and at the end the cute guy asks for the check. I give him a flirty smile and bring the bill. They pay and as they are about to leave the cute guy hands me the bill and says, “This is for you,  you were great.” After they leave I open up the bill and find that he had generously left me 4 dollars on an 80 dollar check. But the best part was that he had written his number on the check with a note that said “Call me sometime!” HAHA! RIGGHHHT! Maybe I could pay for dinner and a movie too?

It’s happened here too. (A two dollar tip and digits) What is going to do – take you out and then give another waitress some shitty tip?

fuckmytable July 31, 2010 at 10:37 am

When that happens I usually text the number with “Hey it’s your waitress” and they’re like “Hey cool what’s up?” and I say, “If you wonder why no one ever calls, here’s a tip: next time you leave your number for the waitress perhaps you should tip her well, dickhead.”

They never text back and I usually never see them again either. And maybe next time they leave their number they WILL tip well.

I definitely would have done what fuckmytable said, lol!
My wedding ring does enough to keep the creeps away, but I feel your pain. What an ASSHOLE.

People actually think 10% is a good tip..

Grr. Hate it when bad customers try to leave digits, lol.

However, I cam here from notalwaysright.com and I’m going back. 90% of these seem to be about bad/no tips. You know that most of us don’t get/expect/ aren’t allowed to recieve tips or gifts? That’s what the paycheck is for, however crappy it may be.

when the paycheck is for $2.13 an hour, crappy doesn’t even begin to describe it. we make our living from tips, not checks. remember that.

I had the opposite thing happen to me a couple years ago. I had just turned 18 and a man in his late 40′s (it was obvious) tried to buy me with a $20 bill.. hahah! creep.
