Don’t Fall Asleep While Ordering Your Beers Then

I worked at a sports bar restaurant and one night during football
season a group of teachers came in to drink and have appetizers. This
was a group comprised of regulars and their friends, so I figured
they’re going to be easy and friendly. Well one of the “friends” was
ordering rounds of coors light all night for these 6 people who seemed
to all just be enjoying their beers instead of chugging(they were not
even finished with these most of the night). This one “friend” had
ordered what seemed like 8 or 9 rounds and came up to me at the bar
for a tenth. I’ve been bartending for years and know when someone has
had enough to drink. At first glance he looked off set so I stalled
him for a bit and went and helped some other customers. When I came
back I saw him passed out, leaning on the bar service station pole. I
informed him at this time that I could no longer serve him. He got
irate(as most drunks will do) and wanted to close his tab and demanded
to speak with a manager. I went to close this tab and of course the
machine was out of paper so he started antagonizing me. The manager
finally came and saw this mess of a man and closed the tab. The man
finally left saying every time I come in here I will not tip you, my
reply to this was every time you come in here I will not serve you.
Gotta love the service industry.
