Waiter Careers Can Be A Very Rewarding Experience

It is very rare to find a career that will pay as well as a waiter career, and offer the same amount of flexibility. One of the best things about a waiter career is that you normally do not have to wake up early to go to work. Night shifts are great for people who do not like to get up at 6 o’clock in the morning and sit behind a desk for 8 hours. If you can get in a really nice restaurant you will be looking at shifts from somewhere in the range of 5pm-11pm at night, not bad, especially since you are making cash!

The Downside Of A Waiter Career

Of course, every career choice has its down sides. While a waiter career is ideal while you are in school or traveling the world, it can be very stressful. Not knowing how much money you are going to have coming in every week can take a real toll on some people. Nobody likes working on holidays, but those are the biggest paydays in this profession. This career also is very physical in nature. You should expect to be on your feet the entire time you are at work. Here are some cons of this career path:

-Work late

-No steady paycheck

-High stress

-No money coming in when not working

-Not much advancement

-On feet all night

-Work holidays

-Hard to please some customers

-Faced paced environment

-Physical work

The Choice Is Yours

After reading this lens you should have a very good idea of what it is like in many modern day waiter careers. It can prove to be a rewarding line of work, especially if you consider yourself a people person. Every job has its pros and cons, and the waiter career is no different. Make sure that when looking for work to choose a restaurant where you enjoy the food and your co-workers. There is nothing harder than trying to sell somebody the special of the day if the food sucks. Be positive and you will have success no matter what career path you choose.

Class act. i love what i do and have been doing it a long time. One of the coolest things about waitering and working in restaurants is enjoying people and genuinely loving food and wine. Getting to share with strangers and turning them into regulars that may eventually become downright friends is the art. How wonderful is that!
